Renovation & Expansion Summary
The Palmetto Club doubled its square footage through the renovation and expansion of its building on Sumter Street. The renovations updated the entire club and include additional amenities such as:
The Tap Room: The Tap Room is the Club's social hub, making it the most popular bar in downtown Columbia. The casual atmosphere is complemented by a long bar, fourteen foot ceilings, booths lining large arched windows, and fresh, local menus presented to you by staff members who know your name and preferences. Located on the corner of Sumter and Lady Street, this ground level bar will provide members with a space for a quick lunch, cocktails after work, or dinner with friends.
Wine Lockers: Members have the opportunity to purchase wine lockers for their own personal wine storage. These wines are available on premise for members to enjoy at their leisure. The Club Staff will coordinate meetings with local wine representatives so that members can have personalized suggestions and exclusive wine selections at their disposal without a corkage fee.
Meeting Rooms: Private function rooms are available on all three levels of the building, providing members space for business meetings, private parties, or smaller dinners. In addition to the privacy offered by the meeting rooms, they will also feature cutting edge IT equipment; including video conferencing, screens and projectors for presentations, WiFi, and support for conference calls.
Main Ballroom: The Club's ballroom, previously identified as the Boyd Room, has been expanded by more than thirty percent of the original space with a seating capacity of 200 people. The space provides members a room to host larger banquet events and weddings.
